If you choose not to take Madora I would take a knight, over fighter for Tactician/Honour. More of melee DPS who also focuses in Man-At-Arms, there's not much difference between fighter and knight other than knight starts with a 2h weapon and will deal more damage as such, but take more damage. A tank is necessary obviously to protect your ranged characters but again I would go with Madora over your source hunter as her stock ability of comeback kid is just way too good to start with for Tactician/Honour mode It still has a bit of self sustain with Cure-Wounds, and the difference stances can save you in a tight spot if you need to pour out a bit of DPS or take a few pot shots. The other "tank" class in the game, the fighter specializes in Man-At-Arms and has a good CC status of knockdown by 2 spells. I would say that this class is a MUST either through Jahan or a Source Hunter for Tactician/Honour It can save you from so many headaches as well as get you through certain puzzles. I again do not recommend this class for Tactician/Honour mode.Įnchanters start with Hydrosophist/Aerotheurge which both boast great CC spells (freezing and stunning respectively), Hydrosophist has the healing spells, and teleport from Aerotheurge is pretty much a MUST for Tactician/Honour mode. A combination of Man-At-Arms and Hydrosophist, the cleric might seem useful just because of the title but the combination of classes lacks crowd control and in theory you could tank up hard and heal yourself, there's better option for tank-DPSers, a pure INT caster will heal better at all time. I honestly would say that there's not enough specialization and it's stats aren't good enough to justify bringing one in for Tactician/Honour mode.ĭon't be fooled by the title of this class, as there's few actual healing spells in this game. This is a weird hybrid of melee, magic, and survavibility which might sounds good but in hindsight we really only need two skill trees, Battle mages start with three (Man-At-Arms, Pyrokinetic, and Witchcraft. With those in mind, let's take a look at the selection of classes we can make our Source Hunters from, and yes while you can customize everything this is just a general layout.

I again highly suggest Madora, even if you're running melee source hunters as is. Also she can put out some hefty damage while still taking damage if you toolkit her the right way. It allows you to avoid death for an attack that would normally kill you and recharges when you heal. Madora also is a pretty much lock for your party for one reason and one reason only, she comes with the talent Comeback Kid which usually requires 5 willpower. The melee man-at-arms fighter of the companions. I highly suggest picking up Bairdotr as a companion.

Not only that her attributes are really good for a ranger. She also starts with decent perception that can be boosted up to an adequate number for Tactician mode via items/Burn My Eyes. Bairdotr has the nice addition of starting with Tenebrium allowing her to handle those items without being affected by rot, potentially before anyone in your party can. Rangers are a must in the game for honour mode and the sorts. I ultimately passed on Jahan and went with making one of my source hunters an enchanter I would suggest that unless you really want a source hunter to be an enchanter to pass on Jahan as his attributes aren't optimal. The only downfall is his starting speed is an abysmal 5, and speed is vital for combat in tactician mode. To be honest I just used him as a 5/5 Crafter/Blacksmither and never used him in the game at all outside of when I needed to for his personal quest achievements.īoasting the same skills as the class an enchanter, Jahan is a nice alternative to having your source hunters dedicated to that slot, he also has some nice crafting/smithing stats already so there's that to consider. However he is useful if you need someone to find traps if you really want to run through certain areas as he starts with 7 perception, and he also has light stepper.

Your resident Rogue, Wolgraff specializes in dual wielding and dealing decent damage, but a huge drawback especially for tactician mode is that Wolgraff has pitiful HP.
